Introducing Tap to Pay: Accept in-person payments with Studio Manager

Over the past weeks, we’ve rolled out exciting updates to make running your photography business easier than ever. We introduced the Studio Manager mobile app so you can manage bookings, invoices, and everything else on the go. We also launched Pixieset Payments to help you get paid faster by card, digital wallets, and buy-now-pay-later options.

Today, we’re taking payments one step further. Forget about chasing clients for money, or keeping track of cash and checks. You can now collect in-person payments right on your phone, with Tap to Pay. Simply open an invoice through the Studio Manager mobile app and have the client tap their card, phone, or smartwatch to pay instantly. To use Tap to Pay, you’ll need both Pixieset Payments and the latest version of the Studio Manager mobile app. Pixieset Payments is available in the US and Canada.

To further enhance the experience you offer to clients, we’ve also introduced gift cards and discounts for sessions. Keep reading to learn more!

Take payments with just a tap on your phone

Tap to Pay makes it easy to collect payments immediately after a session, offering your clients a quick and convenient way to pay in person, on the spot. After wrapping up the photoshoot, simply open your Studio Manager mobile app and initiate the payment process. No extra hardware or card readers needed, just your phone! Clients can pay with their credit or debit card, Apple or Google Pay. Once they tap your phone, the payment goes through immediately. You can also activate tips as part of the payment workflow, so clients can choose how much they want to leave on top. It’s fast, secure, and incredibly convenient.

To use Tap to Pay, follow these simple 3 steps:

  1. Activate Pixieset Payments. Available in the US and Canada.
  2. Download the latest version of the Studio Manager mobile app.
  3. Activate Tap to Pay in the app.

Use gift cards to bring in new bookings

Want to treat a returning client or someone they’ve referred? You can do that with gift cards in Studio Manager. Create a gift card with any amount, and share it with the client or their friend. The recipient can apply it toward an invoice or at checkout on your booking site to cover their session fee.

It’s a simple yet thoughtful way to show appreciation, while also motivating returning and potential clients to book. Learn how to create a gift card in Studio Manager and share it with your client.

Offer session discounts with coupons

Planning a holiday special deal for your clients? Or want to encourage early bookings with a limited discount? With coupons in Studio Manager you can create exclusive offers for clients who book through your booking site. You can set up a coupon for a fixed amount or a percentage discount, choose which session types it applies to, set an expiration date or limit the number of uses.

Share the code online or via a direct message, so clients can redeem their discount at checkout. It’s an easy way to attract new business and fill out your calendar during slow season. Learn more about offering session discounts with coupons.
